About Me

Email: clcottrell44@gmail.com
Graduated from the #2 ranked public game design program in the world!

I love playing games, writing about games, and making games! I gravitate toward Shooters and RPGs but can find the fun in pretty much any genre and any development budget. Some of the games I admire most are BioShock, Portal 2, Mass Effect 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Halo, and XCOM to name a few.
As a game dev, I always put storytelling first, as it's my greatest passion. Whether that's writing, environmental storytelling scenes, or just the emotional flow of objective sequences, I love finding ways to let the narrative shine! I'd swoon over any project offering a chance to flex my writing muscles!
I'm professionally experienced in both horror and puzzle design and really relish the right brain / left brain balance I've had the chance to employ throughout my career. I think that level design calls for that balance in spades and that's part of why I love it. I love bringing new worlds into existence and ensuring that they solve specific design problems. I also love being at the nexus of development where all disciplines meet.
Outside of games, I spend my time writing, hiking, traveling, cheering on my Green Bay Packers, and being hopelessly in love with my dog, Princess Peach.
